Saint-Emilion can compete with Bordeaux on an even footing. Every year, thousands of visitors succumb to the charm of the sloped landscapes of its wine region, and the cobbled streets and sunny squares of the medieval town.
And the wine needs no introduction... The names Ausone, Cheval Blanc or Angelus are enough to understand the prestige of the AOC (protected designation of origin). But Saint-Emilion is also about macaroons, the history of the monk Emilion, a unique monolithic church and miles of underground galleries where the wines of the appellation’s many wine estates, from the most modest to the most famous, lie aging.
For this stopover, you will stay in a charming guest house located in the town, a few metres from Porte Brunet, a private place offering a unique and wildly romantic view over the vineyard.
Take advantage of the River Festival from 24 May to 3 June 2019 to visit Bordeaux and the Bay of Arcachon from the water.
