Welcome to Bordeaux for the first day of the Fête du Vin! On arrival, immerse yourself in the history and culture of this Unesco World Heritage city with a guided tour of Bordeaux. Explore Bordeaux's art de vivre, admire the city's Enlightenment town planning and exceptional architecture. Discover the importance of the Garonne, Bordeaux's influence on the movement of ideas and its historical role.
Spend the morning exploring the Cité du Vin's permanent exhibition at your own pace. Compose your own itinerary according to your interests, with no restrictions on the direction of your visit. The average visit lasts between 2 and 3 hours, with plenty of content to deepen your discovery. Note that the visit to the Cité du Vin ends at the Belvedere with a glass tasting of Bordeaux wines and wines from vineyards around the world. This tour of the Cité du Vin is the perfect immersion for wine lovers.
At the end of the evening, you will be amazed by the Sound and Light show on the Place de la Bourse main square, followed by a giant fireworks display. This busy day will end with a well-deserved rest in your guesthouse.
Take the road to Saint-Emilion and begin by exploring the history of the city of Saint-Emilion in 1h30 with an expert guide. Discover the key stages in its development, from its origins to the present day, as you take in subterranean sights and monuments such as the hermitage, the Chapel of the Trinity, the catacombs and the monolithic church. For this last day, it's the Médoc's turn to open its doors to you! On the route des châteaux, visit a cooperage in the Médoc to discover the secrets of barrel-making in the cooperage. As you tour the workshops, you'll learn about the vital role played by wood in the maturing of wine, and appreciate the expertise of our master coopers.
You'll then taste the wines of Château Desmirail, a grand cru classé in Margaux, now owned by a member of the Lurton family, an emblematic figure in the Bordeaux wine world.
As the final stop on your wine adventure, you'll make a stop in front of the unmissable Château Margaux, recognized as one of the world's greatest wines for several centuries, for a souvenir photo.
