To start your wine-growing and oenological experience, we invite you to visit the district of Chartrons, Bordeaux’s historic wine and wine trading district. Just a 10-minute walk from the city centre, immerse yourself in a different atmosphere and type of architecture in the heart of this “little village” built on trade.
In the past, wine was the flagship product here, but today, antique dealers, flea markets and art set the pace of life in the neighbourhood. Your tour of the district will end with a visit to the wine and trading museum, housed in three beautiful vaulted cellars.
Depending on what you fancy, visit a wine estate workshop to design your own vintages or meet a chef in his kitchen to learn all his culinary secrets. You will be booked in for dinner in a Michelin-starred Bordeaux restaurant ideally situated for entertainment opportunities and destinations to visit.
Visit the famous Cité du Vin wine museum, a unique must-see venue for wine tourism and Bordeaux culture, before leaving Bordeaux and heading for the Margaux appellation. Located in the south of the Médoc, you will visit a wine-producing château and discover the history of a famous appellation.
Learn all the steps in the production of an outstanding wine during a visit to four wine estates. A tasting combining the estate wine and one of the local food specialities will be offered to you on each tour. Your lunch break will be spent in one of the most beautiful establishments of the appellation, with a memorable food and wine pairing.
After succumbing to the temptations of southern Médoc wines, continue your oenological initiation with wines from the left bank of the Garonne. Head in the direction of the Pessac-Léognan appellation and visit two Graves wine estates producing Grands Crus Classés wines.
At lunchtime, let yourself be tempted by food and wine pairings, a delicious combination of products of the land and the ocean – the pride of the region. The day ends with a tour of Bordeaux in a sightseeing bus, before stepping out onto the terrace of a beautiful establishment for a cocktail with views over the city rooftops.
