Your break begins with discovery of the town of Bergerac, which was so dear to Cyrano. Start in the historic town centre before taking a break for lunch at a restaurant in the town’s covered market.
Then take the road again to the vineyards of the Monbazillac appellation, where you will visit a château and enjoy a wine tasting. Reach your accommodation tucked among the trees, in the middle of the Périgord forest, at the end of the afternoon. A gourmet hamper will be waiting for you to perfect this original and delightful evening.
On this second day you will not touch the ground so soon! After a wonderful night high up in the trees, you will feel ready to fly over the Dordogne in a hot air balloon. Castles, vineyards, gardens.. take in the scenery and discover the Dordogne in a different way.
At lunchtime, you will reach the medieval village of Beynac-et-Cazenac and then continue your day with free time to visit the village and castle of Beynac. End your getaway with a boat trip on the river, aboard a traditional boat called a gabarre.
And what better way to end this beautiful day than a dinner in a star-rated restaurant just 3 kilometres away, followed by a second night in atypical accommodation in the trees.
It is impossible to imagine a stay in the Périgord Noir without a stop in Sarlat-la-Canéda, capital of truffles and foie gras. Discover the town's rich architecture, midway between the medieval era and the Renaissance.
Then we invite you to go to Vézac to visit the most outstanding gardens in the region: the Marqueyssac hanging gardens. You will have lunch in a restaurant set in the heart of Sarlat-la-Cadéna.
Take advantage of the River Festival from 24 May to 3 June 2019 to visit Bordeaux and the Bay of Arcachon from the water.
