Like its distant cousin, Bordeaux wine, Cognac is universally known and has transformed a small town into the capital of a world-renowned trade.
Developed according to a tradition dating back five centuries, using double distillation and oak barrel ageing, this brandy reflects a certain French way of life.
And thanks to tradition, there are brands that have given and continue to give Cognac its reputation for excellence. We invite you to spend a day discovering this refined world where excellence is the hallmark!

Set off to visit Cognac and its most famous firm, founded in 1724: Rémy Martin. Visit the historic residence, from the old cellars to the private lounges, and discover all the stages of Cognac-making. The tour ends with a tasting of three Cognacs accompanied by gourmet finger-food.
Then head to the history museum in Cognac, to understand Cognac production, from white grape harvesting to improvement in oak barrels, through double distillation, invented, according to legend, by the knight Jacques de la Croix Maron de Segonzac. Smell the spicy Cognac and wood aromas floating in the air... an irresistible invitation to a tasting!
At lunchtime, try local produce during a delicious meal at our guest house, the Club. Enjoy the private lounges in an Anglo-American and refined atmosphere.
In the afternoon, visit the Château of Cognac, birthplace of François I in 1494, headquarters of Baron Otard Cognacs since 1795. Then end your getaway at the Birius estate, a small family-run business. You will be greeted by the owners themselves, Anne and Philippe Bouyer, who will share their profession and enthusiasm with you.
Finally, return to your hotel in Bordeaux after you have had your fill of history and tradition.
Enjoy Bordeaux and its vineyards in the Margaux and Pessac-Léognan wine-growing areas, during the summer season.
